About Us

We make EFL (English as a Foreign Language) resources for students, teachers and schools. The emphasis is on international English and resources including resources on world cultures.

We also have a database of TEFL teachers available for hire. Teachers can advertise themselves to potential employers in the city they are currently living in.

The books and resources are written by Marianne Jordan, a teacher and writer of English for over 30 years. The website and everything technical is built and looked after by her co-founder at Pronunciation.Club, Simon Quinn.

We also welcome submissions from experienced TEFL writers who are looking for writing jobs. We welcome your enquiries and suggestions.

Why I started writing the Irish culture books

When I first started teaching English in Ireland, all schools used Oxford, Cambridge or another pre-made course book. They are really great for teaching English and save a lot of preparation.

However, the biggest flaw I found was that these course books were, naturally, focused on things and places found in England. All our students were coming from Europe and wanted to learn about Ireland and Irish culture — not Big Ben or double decker buses. At the time, there were no course books on Ireland and Irish culture.

So I wrote the Learning English in Ireland course book. Students and teachers loved it, and I went on to write the other Irish-themed books: Traditional Irish Songs, Halloween Word Games and Celtic Art Activities.
